I fell in love with these beautiful mandalas by artist, Lori Beaty, from the first time I saw them. From a feng shui perspective, I am impressed with one pervading quality in the entire collection: they breathe, and just as any living presence, they are volatile and moving—like the wind (feng) and the water (shui). Each object within the mandala is a guide or principle of an aspect of wisdom. As you experience the beauty of the mandalas through your own unique relationship with each one, the colors and symbols can facilitate an opening to greater understanding, within as well as without, helping you to create, manifest, and enjoy greater success, health and well-being in every aspect of your life - in body, .mind, and spirit.

Chakra - The Chakra Web reminds of the TORUS, which is regarded as the first shape to emerge out of the genesis pattern. It governs many aspects of life including the human heart with its seven muscles (seven charka centers in the body, 7 rainbow colors in the full spectrum of light) that form a Torus. It is the primary shape in existence. The wheel suggests motion: the infinity of one color and its attributes becoming another; the concentric circles giving a sense of endless expansion.

Earth Tones - The Earthtones Web Mandala is rich with earth energy. Geometrically, earth is represented by the square. The 4-pointed star symbolizes the

Om - Om is regarded as a primary source of intuition and wisdom. The purpose of Om is to inspire and lead the mind, rather than be directed by the mind.

Sri Yantra - Throughout time, the Yantra, with its' origins in ancient India, has been considered it to be one of the most powerful of all known geometric symbols. It represents the geometric structure of the sound of creation - OM, and it has been said to bring focus, balance, and increased life force energy.

Feng Shui Practioner, RaNita Parrish, reveals the secrets of placement for mandalas in your home or business.

The language of the body is symbolic, meaning that the body interprets information differently than the thinking mind. Feng Shui principles are useful and effective when applied, not because the placement and orientation of objects have inherent magical or mystical powers, but because we have a neurological system. The environment is a tool - a vast resource from which to draw upon to change the messages that are being received subconsciously by the human being/body. Information in the subconscious is like a seed buried deep in the soil - it germinates, sprouts and manifests in the conscious reality. This is why feng shui cannot be applied to all persons equally as a one-size-fits all. Feng Shui principles are based on the relationship (constructive, destructive, or reductive) of elemental energetic qualities - fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. An elemental energetic quality can be expressed in many ways, including, but not limited to physical elements, colors, numbers, shapes, sounds, aromas, compass directions, and seasons.

Most all feng shui formulas rely on a very powerful calculation tool called the Magic 'Lo Shu' Square—divided into 9 equal parts (resembles a tic-tac-toe grid). Numbers are attributed to each square, so that each row, column and the two main diagonals all add up to the same total. The numbers in the rows, columns and diagonals of the 'Lo Shu' all add up to '15'. This constant sum is called the 'magic summation' Magic squares are thought to have protective powers against illness and evil spirits. The sequence of the numbers creates a "capacitance grid." An understandable example might be a simple camera - as "energy" moves in a specific order or sequence, it causes something to happen - Flash! The Mandalas can be used in conjunction with the Lo Shu to activate various aspects of one's life. Begin by placing the mandalas in each sector as suggested, then meditate and set your positive intention, following the number sequences as specified in each exercise:

  1. "Magic Square" Capacitance Grid is a ritual performed to sweep clean stagnate energy and activate positive energy. Begin with the number '1' in the North (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9) and finish with '9' in the South.
  2. "Tracing the 9-Star Path" is an ancient Tibetan practice brought to the Western World by the leader of the Fourth Generation of Black Sect Tantric Feng Shui, Grandmaster Lin Yun. This ritual is performed to rid an environment of ill fortune and to transform it into healing chi, or life force energy. Begin at position '3' in the East/middle left (3-4-5-6-7-8-9-1-2) and finish with '2' in the Southwest/far right. Recite the Sanskrit Heart Sutra (gatay, gatay, boro, gatay, boro sun gatay, bodhi so po he) at each sector as you progress.
